Dr. Mohamad Saad is a Senior Research Scientist and Group Lead at the Qatar Center for Artificial Intelligence, part of the Qatar Computing Research Institute at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar. With a background in applied mathematics and statistics, Dr. Saad's research spans statistical genetics, bioinformatics, and machine learning/artificial intelligence. His work focuses on applying and developing advanced statistical and machine learning methodologies to identify genetic variants associated with complex diseases. Specifically, Dr. Saad is involved in building polygenic risk scores and AI models with the goal of implementing personalized healthcare solutions across the MENA region. He is also exploring machine learning and AI techniques to integrate multi-omics data for chronic diseases such as coronary heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Dr. Saad has published in many peer-reviewed high-impact journals including Nature Genetics, The Lancet, The Lancet Oncology, Immunity, Circulation: Genomics and Precision Medicine, and Genome Research.
